Are your insurance bases covered?

What type of insurance do you have? Are all your bases covered? Do you have home insurance, car insurance or life insurance? Do you have a combination of them or perhaps all of them?

Many people do not take out insurance because they are afraid of the long-term payments and the burden that will place on their cashflow. However, I speak from experience when I say a few dollars a week is a lot better than having to pay out $5000 all at once for a crashed car, a house fire or perhaps an operation you need. Recently my brother underwent throat surgery and because we had private health insurance he got a nice bed and the operation was done a week after he booked. On the other hand, a family down the road needed their son’s tonsils out as well and as they had no insurance the waiting list was two years! A sick child waiting for two years? I don’t think so! So now the family has re-mortgaged their house to pay for private surgery. If they had insurance it could have been avoided.
