Is video the new blog?

There have been a lot of blogs talking about the fact that video might be the next blog. People are experimenting more and more with the genre and finding that it is adding a new dimension to their existing blog.

I have a problem with video blogging, however. The thing that is great about written blogs is that you can scan over the bits you want to read and ignore the rest. Furthermore, you don’t need any sound on so you can read it at work when you are supposed to be doing other things.

Anyway, it will be interesting to see how video blogging goes. I don’t think it will ever be more than an element of a written blog.
