I have just hit the one year mark since I started making money online. While I haven’t made my first million yet I have learned a few things along the way that might help all the new-comers out there.

1. Don’t put all your eggs in one basket
   Make sure you aren’t earning all your money from one place. Have multiple steams of income like adsense, advertising deals, text links, paid posts, etc.
2. Don’t play video games
   An insane amount of time can be wasted playing games that don’t last and have no benefit. It is fun for a while but when you realize how much of your life you have wasted you will feel dirty!
3. Don’t rely on any one source of traffic
   If all your traffic comes from Yahoo! you are bound to get into trouble. Make sure you have a good amount of links form other sites and are getting traffic in other ways.
4. Don’t eat pasta
   Working all day on a computer and eating pasta everyday will make you fat, sick and ugly.
